Field Visit

Hey guys!

I'm back! Life here is getting busier!
Well, by this time I'm already adapted to the life here.
Got my daily routine organized.
Buying groceries is a necessity every Monday.
Got familiar with class hours and lecturing style.

However, my semester is very busy. We have 2 weekly assignment and 1 weekly test. There r also 3 group assignments due next month and a few more individual assignments and portfolio to be done!

One of my units known as Strategic Procurement had a field visit today. My Papua New Guinea friend picked me up and together we headed towards Hazelmere, an industrial area.

The company we visited is CENTURION, a thrid party logistics provider.

Only 30% of the class turned up just now

The people there bringing us around and explaining the logistics processes involved.

The unloading bay

All processes are systematic and well-organized. It's really a good exposure for us!

Now, these are giant tyres used in mining and timber extraction sites.
CENTURION has orders everyday, meaning the tyres are not stored here permanently. Once, they received an order, the tyre is delivered and new ones came in.
This is how it is packed for delivery

CENTURION actually has more than 300 of these tyres stored on site. Btw, u got to know that each single tyre can cost up to $70,000! Cool yea?

Just finished dinner. Gotta do some readings later...have a TEST tomorrow!

Take care ppl!

Getting started

Had a lecture js now on the subject - Supply Chain Information Systems.

The lecturer basically talked crap and spent more than 1 hr to talk on the unit outline and simple definitions, bla bla bla........

and I was seriously BORED!

Guess wad? This is how I spent my time in class js now...

So, can u imagine the "boringness" level in class ??? =S

Btw, I met a new friend from Ipoh js now! She's so kind that she js asked me where's my house and straight away offered to send me home!!! And the best thing is I DIDN'T even make a request for asking her to send me home!
***Last night's Wish came true*** =D
She told me that she has been here for 3 years and it's very dangerous to walk back home alone at night. Many cases of robbery have occured. I heard there were violence attack on students and also death cases in the uni compound! Also, there was even a molest case at 6th floor of the library! It's really scary out there!
Now...let me show u my room...

My study table

My bed

I would say my room is a big one. It's AUD 130 per week for the rental (w/o electricity and water bill)

Another lecture to go tmr nite and I'll start busy with my assignments and research...=S

UPDATE

I got my timetable last week and I have classes every Mon to Thu (5:30pm to 8:30 pm)

Today is basically a boring day...

Now, let me think wad have I done today...

Went to my uni. and "surveyed" the buildings where my classes are to be held

Then went to the supermarket (Coles) nearby my house. It's only about 6 mins from my house

Phoned Vian but no ans. Then Kopi and Judith.
Vian, I miss ur laughter n foul words! Oops! haha!
Kob, u better take care of ur leg ah!
Judith, u wear more clothes! Don't catch cold!

Bought vegetables for the week, sesame oil and teriyaki sauce

Spent 20 minutes chopping garlic and keep them in a container

Cooked some "小白菜" and chicken

Neither I like cooking nor helped my mum cooking back i Kch, but I really like my CHICKEN today! I cooked it with garlic, carrot, black pepper, mushroom and the Teriyaki sauce I js bought this morning! Wuhoo~ It really taste good! =D

Spent my aftn online checking stuff..Damn it. My internetreally sucks!

Feeling tired, I set my alarm at 4:45pm so that I can catch a bus at 5:03pm. Who knows...I OVERSLEPT! Aku memang BABI la! I only woke up at 5:13pm! HELL man! I was lucky enough to rush to the bus stop and took a bus at 5:17pm! That's really tiring!

Class started at 5:30pm. Looking around in the classroom, I feel "BOREDOM"...
28 students and "Uncle Aunty" make up the majority... I have a new Indon friend and Papua friend...One can be my uncle and one can be my father...=S

The lecture is pretty boring and the lecturer already briefed us about the assignment and group presentation! Hell man! I'm not gonna enjoy this! Luckily, the lecturer "catch snake" and we could go back ONE hour earlier!

The poor thg I have to annouce here is that there's NO bus at all to go back my house after 8:03pm, which is the last bus to leave Curtin Bus Stop, meaning that I have to walk back home in the dark everytime class ends... Gotta meet some new frens who r DRIVING...heehehehehehe >.<

So, guys and gals back there? How r u??? Pls chat or leave some comments or anythg in my blog... I miss u all vy much!

Simple update

Hey everyone!

I'm already in Perth and I'm fine here!

Spent 3 days doing the registration, planning timetable, buying text books, opening bank a/c, purchasing a travel card, etc... It's quite messy here and I had to run here and there in the campus just to do simple tasks!

I went to a Perth Tour organised by uni today and it only costs AUD 30! We visited quite a few places of interest. I've met quite some friends from Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Denmark, India, Sweden, Vietnam and Indonesia. Will upload the photos some other time.

But, I'm really depressed bout my timetable. I have classes from Monday to Thursday and unfortunately, all my classes are from 5:30 to 8:30 PM!!!!!! I feel like studying ACCA in Kch again! I really hate such lecture hours but it's REPEATING again!!! This is partly due to mosts students in my course are full time workers.

I even met a lady who's bout the same age like my mum in my same course! -_-

Next week is stil orientation week. Actual class starts from 27th!

Will update u guys again! =D
