Field Visit

Hey guys!

I'm back! Life here is getting busier!
Well, by this time I'm already adapted to the life here.
Got my daily routine organized.
Buying groceries is a necessity every Monday.
Got familiar with class hours and lecturing style.

However, my semester is very busy. We have 2 weekly assignment and 1 weekly test. There r also 3 group assignments due next month and a few more individual assignments and portfolio to be done!

One of my units known as Strategic Procurement had a field visit today. My Papua New Guinea friend picked me up and together we headed towards Hazelmere, an industrial area.

The company we visited is CENTURION, a thrid party logistics provider.

Only 30% of the class turned up just now

The people there bringing us around and explaining the logistics processes involved.

The unloading bay

All processes are systematic and well-organized. It's really a good exposure for us!

Now, these are giant tyres used in mining and timber extraction sites.
CENTURION has orders everyday, meaning the tyres are not stored here permanently. Once, they received an order, the tyre is delivered and new ones came in.
This is how it is packed for delivery

CENTURION actually has more than 300 of these tyres stored on site. Btw, u got to know that each single tyre can cost up to $70,000! Cool yea?

Just finished dinner. Gotta do some readings later...have a TEST tomorrow!

Take care ppl!
